The perfect class if you've never danced or haven't in a
while. If you have other dance background, you should still start
here. These are ongoing classes and you may start any time.
If you've currently been studying or have recent experience,
this is likely where you'll be challenged enough. I strongly suggest taking
at least one Beginning Bellydance class first, just to familiarize yourself
with the terminology and how moves may differ from what you're used to.
Right now we have two choreography classes going, so there
may be a new one starting soon. You should have some dance experience before
trying a choreography class, but you don't need to be at Intermediate Bellydance level - just a good understanding of Beginning is fine. If you
want to take a choreography class, be SURE you can attend all the classes,
otherwise you'll have a hard time keeping up. Register first and you can
still pay via PayPal before the class if you'd like.
Specialty Classes
Specialty classes are scheduled when enough students are interested, and
may be a weeknight series or a weekend intensive, usually just covering one
topic or range of dance movements.
One solid hour focusing on just one thing, such as:
3/4 Shimmy
Finger cymbals (zills)
Veil
Undulations
Cane, sword or other 'prop' dances (all are separate
classes)
Dancing to Taksim (slow music)
Drum solos
Other classes such as sewing, makeup, stage
presentation...you name it. If students are interested, we'll teach it!

Workshops:
Saturday workshops are presented occasionally. We'll spend 2 - 3 1/2 hours
working on either specific techniques, such as mastering the slow dance
solo, or learning a dance from start to finish in one day. These workshops
are open to anyone, whether or not you're a current student.

Essence of Egypt Dance School is now providing beginning through pro
dance and yoga classes in the Vancouver, WA area. Our private La Center
studio is convenient to the Ridgefield, Woodland, Cougar, La Center, Battle
Ground, Hazel Dell, Vancouver and surrounding areas. Check the schedule for
other classes in alternate locations. Dance, yoga and costuming workshops
and classes are also available in your location.
